The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing high-quality block work walls.
This is a one-month contract, with the possibility of extension depending on the project's progress and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construct block work walls to specifications and required standards.
- Ensure the accurate measurement, cutting, and setting of blocks and bricks.
- Mix and apply mortar or adhesive as needed for bricklaying.
- Follow technical drawings and construction plans to complete wall structures.
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship, ensuring the structural integrity of walls.
- Follow health and safety regulations and keep the work area clean and organized.
- Work closely with other team members, such as foremen and other tradespeople, to ensure timely completion of the project.
- Report any issues or delays to the site manager.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Bricklayer with a strong portfolio of block work projects.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and technical drawings.
- Proficient in using bricklaying tools and machinery.
- In-depth knowledge of building codes, regulations, and health & safety standards.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) required.
- Own tools preferred but not essential.
- Previous experience working on commercial or residential block work projects is highly desirable.
- You must be able to provide at least two references from previous employers
