This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in rail engineering and a commitment to safety.
The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring track work is handed back to operational use safely and efficiently, complying with Network Rail and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out detailed inspections of completed track works to ensure they meet safety and operational standards.
- Prepare and issue Handback Certificates in compliance with Network Rail’s standards and regulations.
- Work closely with Site Managers, Engineers, and Safety Officers to ensure that all completed work meets the highest quality standards.
- Conduct track measurements and assessments using precision surveying instruments.
- Provide technical advice on track quality and remedial actions when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety regulations and Network Rail procedures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate work schedules and site activities.
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
✅ Valid COSS (Controller of Site Safety) Certification is preferred
✅ Valid PTS (Personal Track Safety) Qualification
✅ Primary Sponsor or valid Drugs & Alcohol (D&A) certificate (issued within the last 3 months)
✅ Up-to-date CV detailing relevant experience and qualifications
Additional Requirements (Desirable):
- Previous experience in track renewals, maintenance, or engineering handback within the rail sector.
- Proficiency in using Track Measuring Devices and other precision tools.
- Strong knowledge of Network Rail Standards, including NR/L2/TRK/001.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Shift Patterns: Weekend, Day & Night shifts available
